Data crawling

Data crawling, also known as data scraping, is a technique used to collect and download publicly available information from the internet—often with the intent of illegal or unauthorized use. Attackers employ specialized bots and tools that automatically extract data from websites, which they then exploit for personal or financial gain.

In the case of Packeta, such misuse may occur when attackers scrape information about pick-up points. They download branch details and addresses and publish them on unauthorized websites. Customers may then unknowingly rely on these unofficial sources, which can be outdated or misleading. Examples of such questionable websites include z-asilkovna.cz or zaaasilkovna.cz.
